I’m Suzanne: your friendly, local driving instructor.  Welcome to my website!

​I’ve been in this role since 2018 and I really love my job. I’ve always enjoyed driving AND learning (both myself and helping others) so I put the two together to forge a career that gives me great pleasure.  Given the steadily high level of enquiries and recommendations along with constant full diary, I think we can call it a success!

​

Before I became a driving instructor, I was a primary school teacher for over 23 years. This gave me a great depth of experience in learning and coaching techniques. I really get a buzz out of helping people to learn and have found I can use this whilst having a work/life balance and have the flexibility to help you to learn safely at a pace that suits you. I aim to make every lesson enjoyable and as productive as possible with a focus on what you need and what you want from each session. Lessons are always conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner as I firmly believe in making every pupil feel at ease so that we can make best use of our time together.

When I became a driving instructor, I was fortunate to be trained by LDC in the latest adult coaching and training techniques. You can be assured that the training I will give you will be of the very highest standard. I am a fully qualified government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) providing automatic driving tuition, Pass Plus and refresher driving lessons.

I live with my husband, Mark and pet whippet, Gally, along with a few smaller pets, plus some very bossy squirrels, hedgehogs, and birds in the garden whom we attend to diligently.

​

I live in Tingley (we’ve been here for well over 20 years now!) and so I work in Tingley itself and the immediate surrounding areas.

​

My hobbies include baking (although I prefer to watch Masterchef rather than Great British Bakeoff!) and I have a ‘pet’ sourdough started in the pandemic and still going strong. I enjoy melting glass, playing with colour, shape and texture to create fused-glass jewellery and you can see my work on Etsy if you search for DragonFusedGlass.  Yep, I am the dragon doing the fusing!  I also love reading, especially science fiction and fantasy. And I love to walk, although owning a breed as lazy as a whippet means that my dog does not always share my passion.
